Gabriel M. de las Salas

Founder and Managing Partner

Gabriel M. de las Salas is the Founder and Managing Partner of GMS Law, PLLC.  He proudly dedicates his practice to the representation of those who have suffered damages to their homes and businesses; specifically, policyholders in disputes with their insurance companies. He particularly enjoys this area of practice because it allows him to represent policyholders against corporate behemoths who oftentimes take advantage of consumers. He loves to advocate on behalf of his clients to ensure they receive the compensation they deserve.

In addition to property insurance disputes, Gabriel represents property owners who have suffered damage to their properties because of construction defects, contractor negligence and unworkmanlike construction. He also assists members of condominium and homeowners’ associations whose homes have been damaged by an association’s failure to maintain and repair common elements.

Born and raised in South Florida, he is the proud child of Cuban exiles. Gabriel completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Florida in three (3) years with cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa honors. After college, he continued his studies at Stetson University College of Law.

In law school, he was involved with Equal Justice Works (EJW), an organization that provides training and skills to law students seeking to aid the poor and other vulnerable populations. Through EJW, he helped organize an auction that raised funds to provide stipends to law students who would take non-paying positions with non-profit organizations that aided the poor. He also moderated a discussion panel with members of the Innocence Project, an organization committed to exonerating the wrongly convicted, to raise money for the organization and to bring attention to the failures of our criminal justice system. During law school, he interned with the Miami-Dade County Public Defender’s Office and clerked for an attorney who focused on representing the victims of excessive use of force at the hands of law enforcement. As a result of his commitment to helping the disadvantaged, he received the William F. Blews Pro Bono Service Award at graduation.

Since January 2021, Gabriel has served on the Board of Directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County.

Affectionately known as “Gaby”, he lives in Dania Beach with his wife and two children. The family has a soft spot for rescue dogs, so they happily share their home with their 2 furry roommates: Dixie and Beau. An aspiring outdoorsman and terrible golfer, he enjoys spending time with his family, rooting for the Florida Gators and smoking or grilling any meat he can get his hands on.
